Escacs: Battle Royale Rogue Chess

This is a completely randomized chess game:

• The initial board setup is completely random for both players.
• Who moves is selected at random every turn.
• When a player does a capture, which either the attacker or the defender is removed at random.
• The AI also plays random moves.

The player alternation and attack success probability by default are 50% so the outcome of the actions is fully random but they can be configured in the settings menu.

FAQ

• Can I play regular chess with this game?

In the settings you can change the board to classic and increase the player alternation and attack success probability to 100% and you'll get pretty close to regular chess. Just keep in mind that many advanced moves like castling, en passant, etc are not implemented.

• Why is the game a rogue?

People call rogue to any game that randomized stuff so I just put it as a joke. It probably should be roguelite but the name was too long. 

• Why is the game a battle royale?

Well, Chess has 2 kings battling. You can't have more battle royale than this.

• Is the AI really random? Looks like it uses some strategies!

Is it completely random. It computes all possible moves for all the pieces and then picks one with equal probability. Any sign of intelligence is just pure chance.

• The game crashed or soft-locked in the middle of a match. What do we do?

If the game fails during a match please follow the spirit of the game and filp a coin to decide the winner.

• What does "Escacs" mean?

"Escacs" is just the translation of "chess" to Valencian. I needed something distinctive to add to Battle Royale Rogue Chess.

• I watched a video from Game Maker's Toolkit that said that developers try make the randomness less frustrating to the player. Are you using any of the techniques explained?

This game was implemented before the video was released. The randomness in this game is the frustrating one on purpose.
